Be sure to talk to it. And, if it talks back, seek professional help.

Or put it on YT and monetize the hell out of it

This really resonates with me... I built a table and installed under cabinet lights all for three plants I bought...
And since I still had some time, I made a key rack out of a piece of channel and some bent nails.
Boring.

Spider plants will take over your house.

That’s awesome. I WISH I had some houseplants, but our cats eat everything in sight. Some hanging plants like that could be a great option…as long as they’re sufficiently far away from a window sill or furniture, don’t want them trying to make a jump for it either.
Happy birthday!

I’ve so far been accumulating house plants by rooting and planting fresh herbs from the grocery store. Also a couple avocado pits. I also just planted a bunch of peppers that I hope will be ready to go outside in our raised beds after the last frost in June. I was late getting last year’s batch started, so they were barely flowering before the first frost caught them in August. I’ve still got one habanero that somehow survived after it came inside as well, but it hasn’t been doing so great. It finally started flowering again about a month ago. But that’s beside the point.
Happy birthday!

I think that’s cool

Well thanks. I am trying to get my welding skills up to something resembling presentable. It’s a struggle. The key rack was a quicky - drilled some holes in the metal, cut and bent some nails and welded them in to the holes - amazing what you can accomplish with a grinder and a flap disc.

I want to grow avocados . I saw somewhere it takes 3-5 years to get something edible. Next I was like hey it would be cool to grow a pineapple. Tho se only take 2 -2.5 yrs to produce fruit but at least they look cool. Also i’m not in the right climate for either of those plants

I like spider plants. I think it’s fascinating how they reproduce, and they remind me of my grandma. She always had a few around the house.

That’s pretty much what this is, yeah. Don’t have some one to take care of so I can at least have some thing .

Creepshow was a really good bad movie. I enjoyed it way more than I should have. I just went down the rabbit hole on IMDB and the cast is fantastic: Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielson, Ed Harris, Ted Danson.

I’m not really in the correct climate for avocados either. Mine are two and three years old, and one has two stems, 6" and 8" tall, and the other is only 16". I moved them to larger jars not quite two months ago and I don’t think they cared for it, as the leaves started wilting. They’ve also been frozen a couple times over their lives, once when I decided I had to air out the kitchen by opening a window at -30, and during a couple moves I had to make during the winter.
That’s the stunted habanero that I forgot had actually grown an itty bitty one, with the avocados behind it.
I’ve got one green onion that survived over-harvesting, and a couple sprouted cloves of garlic in the herb garden, along with a bunch of sprouts from an old seed packet I found from a couple years back that was simply labelled “herbs” — looks to be mostly parsley but some other stuff mixed in — and a half-dozen springs of oregano that grew roots and then took off when planted. I’ve also got a couple springs of mint and dill that just started growing roots, that will hopefully be good to try planting in a week or so.

i’m hoping my wife does a garden this spring. I put together a 5' x8' area for it last year and it was never maintained. maybe with the kids being a bit old they will be interested.

Don’t be down on yourself. I was celibate for like ten years, and it took me another eight to find someone. It'll happen when it happens, but you have to keep putting yourself out there.

I was only partially serious. I do worry about that but I'm not like fatalistic or anything
